Imagine a world where we no longer had to have ‘International Day of ….” (fill in the gap with under-supported minority group).
Imagine communities and workplaces where people were all treated equally, regardless of their gender, colour, heritage, or preferences.
Today is International Day of People with a Disability. The theme for IDPwD 2020 is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”.
What if we deleted the word “disability” and worked every day toward a more inclusive, accessible and sustainable world?
The IDPwD website describes their overarching focus as creating a society that strives for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability.
Let’s all work on that for everyone!
